An opportunity for artists to have their work seen by climate
scientists and present their collaboration interests! Please pass
on...

DEADLINE August 1st.

The goal is to provide artists who work in climate change topics and
communication exposure to the climate scientists attending the world's
largest conference on the topic - AGU 2018, AT NO COST!

AGU - https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2018/welcome/

An e-lightning session provides a means artists who can not afford to
attend the conference (and for those able to travel they attend at no
cost) to have their work presented to climate scientists from around
the world. The presentations will be saved in a virtual library which
can be seen before, during and after the conference. See the link
below for more details.

The Session Format:

https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2017/files/2017/04/FM17-eLightning-Sessions-and-Presentations.pdf

There is no cost for artists submitting abstracts to AGU for the first
time. So there is no reason not to submit!

? PA005: Artists Engaging the Public in Climate Dialogues:
Connect with Artists Working with Scientists to Engage the Public in
Environmental Science and Climate Change

Artists are turning their attention to raising awareness and
facilitating dialogue on environmental science and climate change,
using their voices and platforms to increase public awareness,
accelerate dialogue and promote actionable change. These activities
have spawned environmental art-science organizations and university
programs across the country. We seek art works from all disciplines
including but not limited to music, performance, online presentations,
interactive activities, site-specific sculptural installations and
pop-up exhibits.

Seeking to inform scientists on the scope and reach of art-science
collaborations and to provide scientists with the opportunity to
engage with artists interested in future collaborations, we are
proposing an eLightning session presenting the breath and depth of
artistic work that connects audience?s daily lives to our changing
planet. We hope to facilitate collaborations between artists and
scientists that speak to the public about scientifically-based climate
issues in a language that speaks to our intellect and moves our soul.

Submission portal: https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2018/abstract-submissions/

Submission to this session:

ARTISTS are exempt from abstract submission fees.
