I am the yasmin moderator beginning this evening and

I thought I would start 2014 with a seed topic of the art, science
and technology of water
i spent christmas in california which recorded in 2013 one of the worst
water droughts in history and am on my way to dallas which is an unsustainable
culture in the long run as climate change happens and the drought spreads in
the american south west
Annick Bureaud and I are working on finalising an ebook with Leonardo
collected articles related to the art/sci/tech of water that will include
the papers from the STUDIOLAB "Water is in the Air" workshop
in Marseille= the videos are up at

and the papers are in the latest issue of leonardo journal

AQUA-CULTURE, a group exhibition curated by Henry G. Sanchez featuring
Zach Moser and Eric Leshinsky of Shrimp Boat Projects, Brenda Perry,
Irene J. Klaver and Henry G. Sanchez, showcases artist initiated
projects that contribute to the widening discussion of the issues
surrounding the uses, management and engagements with water sources,
water ways and water bodies. The participants of this exhibition
produce work by employing interdisciplinary practices and
participatory forms of social engagement and collaboration with a
philosophical inquiry into exploring an inter-relationship with a more
aquatic-centric culture. By combining non-art related expertise with
the expertise of the artist, the exhibition allows viewers to reframe,
experience and re-imagine complicated local and global water issues.

water supply" is the closing event of WATERBIOTECH project, a
Coordination Action supported by the European Union under the Seventh
Framework Programme (FP7).
The conference to be held in Marrakesh (Morocco) as the culmination of
more than two years of intensive work under WATERBIOTECH initiative,
will bring together members of WATERBIOTECH consortium in conjunction
with national and regional decision makers, water professionals,
scientists and practitioners. The event includes the presentation of
scientific papers related to relevant aspects of water management,
water treatment and water supply in Africa as well as discussion
panels and workshops. The scientific conference is complemented by a
commercial exhibition showing the state-of-the-art in biotechnology
for water treatment. Development in Africa needs bottom-up approaches
in which the necessities of all actors are taken into account as
WATERBIOTECH project has pursued. The network between Africa and
Europe resulted from WATERBIOTECH project has led to mutual learning
experiences. The intention of this conference is to extend this
fruitful cooperation to all participants of this conference and widely
disseminate the results of WATERBIOTECH initiative.

[Yasmin_discussions] hydo geology art science project
Roger,
Suzanne Pierce,is a hydro-geologist studying thinks between the
science of watersheds, water policy, outcomes of specific policies in
specific types of environments and taking into consideration
uncertainty and complexity theory. She is working on tools for better
decision making, science based tools on which to craft water policy.
She works with artists in Chili. We are working on our first
art-sci-water visualization project. The first of many I am sure.
Looking forward to seeing the efforts of others.

I am the yasmin moderator beginning this evening and

I thought I would start 2014 with a seed topic of the art, science
and technology of water
i spent christmas in california which recorded in 2013 one of the worst
water droughts in history and am on my way to dallas which is an unsustainable
culture in the long run as climate change happens and the drought spreads in
the american south west
Annick Bureaud and I are working on finalising an ebook with Leonardo
collected articles related to the art/sci/tech of water that will include
the papers from the STUDIOLAB "Water is in the Air" workshop
in Marseille= the videos are up at

AQUA-CULTURE, a group exhibition curated by Henry G. Sanchez featuring
Zach Moser and Eric Leshinsky of Shrimp Boat Projects, Brenda Perry,
Irene J. Klaver and Henry G. Sanchez, showcases artist initiated
projects that contribute to the widening discussion of the issues
surrounding the uses, management and engagements with water sources,
water ways and water bodies. The participants of this exhibition
produce work by employing interdisciplinary practices and
participatory forms of social engagement and collaboration with a
philosophical inquiry into exploring an inter-relationship with a more
aquatic-centric culture. By combining non-art related expertise with
the expertise of the artist, the exhibition allows viewers to reframe,
experience and re-imagine complicated local and global water issues.
