Hi Robert,
OK, here goes:

---
As we are in the golden age of neuroscience research, the findings and
technologies emerging from this work are birthing new artistic
endeavors such as the growing community of artists that use
self-recorded brainwaves to drive the creation of visual art, music,
dance, etc. Examples of artists utilizing these approaches are Luciana
Hall (https://lucianahaill.wordpress.com/), Lia Chavez
(http://www.liachavez.com/about/), and Laura Jade
(http://laurajade.com.au/).

A point that needs addressing is whether the term sci/art itself
marginalizes the SEAD community from art patrons or the public who may
perceive it as a passing trend. Many artists who use scientific
methods in their work are not recognized as being "science artists"
(such as Georges Seurat and John Singer Sargent), yet the inclusion of
them under a broader
umbrella term may help to educate the public about the pervasiveness
of scientific observation in artistic practice.

Emerging technologies provide powerful illustrative tools to create
art unprecedented in its scope and detail. Greg Dunn's art/science lab
(http://www.gregadunn.com) is fusing neuroscience, optics,
engineering, and fine art to create the worlds most intricate and
anatomically accurate piece of art on the brain using a new technique
called reflective microetching through a grant provided by the NSF
(http://www.gregadunn.com/?attachment_id=1653).

best,
Greg
