Re: [Yasmin_discussions] One Two Three More Cultures

"Gordon Pask (1928-1996) was a British scientist and artist, whose work
was key to the development of cybernetics – the study of systems of
communication, control mechanisms and feedback.
He worked in academia, the arts and industry, producing poetry, plays,
interactive sculptures and teaching machines."

Two recent exhibitions inspired by the work and character of Gordon Pask
are documented at paskpresent.com (Vienna 2008) and maverickmachines.com
(Edinburgh 2007).

The UK also has the Wellcome Trust Sci-Art initiative which brings
together artists and scientists funding a vast range of experimental
projects:

"Over a decade, Sciart supported 124 projects to a value of £3 million.
Artists funded included fashion designer and artist Helen Storey,
choreographer Wayne MacGregor, performance artist Bobby Baker, filmmaker
Josh Appignanesi, poet Gwyneth Lewis, and visual artists Tim Head,
Jackie Donachie and Simon Pope."
